There are various LED Display Screen, so it can be classified into four kinds: A. Classify by Indoor or outdoor, B. Classify by work mode, C. Classify by quantity of colors, D. Classify by unit density of LED chips. Different LED Display Screens are different in usage, advantage and disadvantages, so make the selection according to actual demand.
C. Indoor and Outdoor LED Display Screen
Compared indoor LED Display Screen with outdoor ones, there are a lot of differences between them. At first, the brightness is different that outdoor LED Screen is several times brighter than indoor ones. If put one indoor LED Screen outdoor, it seems like one TV broadcasting outdoor, consequently, Outdoor LED Display Screen must be made up of super-bright LED chips, moreover, more than one LED chips are required to be encapsulated in one pixel to improve the brightness and increase the viewing distance. On the other side, outdoor LED Screen must be water proof, sun-resistant, dust proof, high-temperature resistant, wind proof and lightning proof, etc, while, there is no restriction to indoor LED screen in these areas.
D. On-line and off-line LED Display Screen
There are two kinds of LED Display Screen if classified by work mode, one is on-line style, that’s called Omnipotent LED Display Screen, the other is off-line style, that’s called Intelligent LED Display Screen. Both of the two are made up of standard matrix modules with 8X8 dots, so the screen surface and the basic display features are the same, and the main difference is :
a.It’s unnecessary for off-line LED Screen to connect with computers, for it can work independently, and there is built-in micro-computer which could save various images when it’s power off. There is clock chip in some screen, so it could display calendar and time. If we want to modify display contents, just connect the interface of RS232 with the computer. While, on-line LED Display Screen could not work until it’s connected with one computer.
b.There are fewer display modes for off-line LED Display Screen, such as the popup type, curtain display, rolling type and so on. However, if we use professional software to broadcast, especially 3DS, there are much more display modes for on-line LED Display Screen.
c.Operating intelligent LED Display Screen is as simple as an electric lamp operation, and it reduces the failure rate because of the reduction of one link, for it’s no need to connect with computers. While, some special staff is required to operate and maintain full-featured LED Screen, and professional knowledge is required for making animations
d.Single-color and Full-color LED Display Screen
1.Single-color LED Display Screen
Single-color LED Display Screen is made up of single-color modules with 8X8dots, and pixel color is red or green. Single-color LED screen could display characters, data, and two-dimensional pictures. Indoor single-color LED screen is economic, merely the color is monotonic.
2.Full-color LED Display Screen is made up of standard modules with 8X8dots and two primary colors, and there are one red and one green LED chips in each pixel. When two chips are both lightened, the pixel is yellow, so LED Screen with two primary colors could display three kinds of colors: red, green and yellow, what’s more, it can also display colorized characters, data and animation. Besides, LED Full-color Screen could connect with all kinds of data sets to display realtime dynamic data and advertisement with a better display effect, and that is the most popular one in the LED market at present.
3. Full-color LED Gray-scaled Display Screen
Full-color LED Gray-scaled Display Screen consists of many modules with 8X8 dots in two primary colors, and there are three primary colors in every pixel: red, yellow, and green, with 16X16 grayscale which is equivalent to 256X256 or 64k kinds of colors. LED Display Screen could display pictures, images, three-dimensional animation and video images vividly in rich colors, Full-color LED Gray-scaled Display Screen is also called Full-color LED Video Display Screen.
F.The density of LED Display Screen is related to the pixel diameter, the smaller of the pixel diameter, the higher of density. To some specific ones, the closer of the viewing distance, the higher of the density, vice versa.
G.The main problems of outdoor LED Screen are as follows:
a.Outdoor LED Display Screen is installed in the open air, exposed to the sun and rain, in the hostile environment. If electronic equipments get wet, it may result in short-circuit or even outbreak of a fire which will cause a great loss.
b.It’s possible that LED Display Screen may be attacked by strong current and magnetic resulted from thunder and lightning.
c.The temperature change of environment is great, and LED Display Screen generates a lot of heat during working, so if the environment temperature is too high which could not be released, then the integrated circuit will not work properly or even be burned, and that may destroy the display system.
d.There are special advantages of outdoor LED Display Screen: huge audience, long viewing distance, wide viewing angle, and great light change, especially sun-resistant.
Looking forward to the special requirements mentioned above, more attention should be paid to outdoor LED Display Screen as follows:
1.Both LED Display Screens and the combination between screens and architectures must be completely waterproof, moreover some good drainage measure must be provided as soon as the seeping occurs
2.Lightning protection must be installed in LED Display Screen and architectures, and the ground connection between the main part and the shell of LED Screens must be good, meanwhile, the ground resistance must be less than 3Ω, to release the excessive electricity resulted from thunder and lightning
3.Set up ventilation installation to lower the temperature in screens to -10℃~40℃, or install a cooling fan on the top at the back of one screen to release heat.
4.Select industrial-grade integrated circuit, of which the operating temperature is between -40℃~80℃, to protect LED Display Screen from freezing.
5.In order to ensure the vivid display effect in strong sunshine at a long distance, the super-bright LED Chips are necessary.
6Try to select LED Chips in new style with wide viewing angle, and there are some advantages: colors are pure, operation is consistent, and the life span is more than 100,000 hours.
